The Sunday Telegraph yesterday reported that Tony Blair “will enter the rich-lists for the first time this year with a fortune of somewhere between £35 million and £60 million” and, according to accountants, he also has “a complex web of companies, designed… to hide just how much money he makes and from where his money comes.”
According to the Telegraph, Blair’s business empire now also has a trading arm, headed by the former managing director at Barclays Capital and staffed by recruits, licensed by the FSA, from Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan and KPMG.
Clients include such liberal regimes as the well-known democracies of Kuwait, Kazakhstan and Qatar.
Undoubtedly, this is entirely an example of responsible capitalism, and Mr Blair’s “complex web of companies” will not result in any avoidance of tax payments.
One wonders how he manages to sleep at night…
Not really worth talking about. but how does he sleep, well with his bank account. He counts all the naughts sends him straight to sleep.
I find the contrast with Brown quite interesting (i.e. earning a lot from speeches and such but donating it all to charity).

he would I think have made a good leader, sadly in these day of celebrities and X factors, he was totally out of his depth.
Sad that this is the world we live in, I doubt Harold Wilson would have made it to the leadership now, his pipe would have been seen as evil.

I always try to remain professorial and balanced but Blair is an egostitcal maniac. He cared nothing about the people of this Country. He is a warmonger and should be ashamed of his title as an international envoy of peace.
I take my hat off to him- well done Tony. If I had given my life to this country for that number of years and had the stress of it all then I would expect to be rich by the end of it.
